Fifty Years......
Hard to believe I first began lifting over fifty years ago. That's a lifetime for many. Now, over those years, I've taken breaks. Had injuries. Partied a lil' too hard sometimes. Allowed myself to get out of shape too often. But eventually, always find my way back to the gym........
As I've written, kicked off a hard core diet this past April, successfully. Well, sort of. I know I lost a few pounds of muscle which at my age... not good. It's extremely hard to gain back. Yet, here I am, back in the gym for six weeks and ... growing. Feel like I've regained most of the muscle I lost already. Now, my weight has bumped up a lil around 290, but ... I feel great. Pants waist size is the same. Vascularity is improving. I've got my diet down about right, and not caloric deficient as of now (not losing weight).
Strength is a fraction of what is was 30 years ago .. but .... you wouldn't know it visually. Honestly feel great. With my joint issues ( shoulder, elbow and back) I'm just happy to be where I am. Everytime I start slinging heavy weights I fuck something up, so really trying to pace myself and my strength is rapidly increasing.
Holding on for the ride .....good days ahead!
