Half Way point....

Have to admit, this has been a lil' more work than I expected on the day in mid April when I made this damned bet.  On a positive note, it's held my feet to the fire and kept me from wandering too far off the path and keeping some form of focus.  Now the negative side is, I've been doing a lot of traveling and not as focused as I thought I'd be.  So, the weight loss has been slower than I'd initially anticipated.

In all fairness, I'm on track.  On paper, I'm ahead of schedule.   I just thought it'd have been quicker/easier.  But, my metabolism has been stubborn.  Still, I haven't pulled out the "big guns", so to speak.  Back in my bodybuilding days, I'd be religiously eating six meals a day (with a restricted caloric intake), working out twice a day and doing a lot of cardio.  That's my backup plan the final 60 days if things don't accelerate.   Problem is .. summer is here and we love our pool time.  But I've almost given up 100% the cold beers on a hot afternoon.  Given up big breakfasts.   Given up pitchers of Margaritas.  Given up Mexican nights during the week.  Still enjoy some wine a few nights a week.  Lets just say, I've acquired a lot of bad habits over the last few decades.  Hey... been Living The Dream (LTD)!!

Well, when I first starting posting about all this I was 331 .. then blew up to 333 (wtf!?!?) and ... had acquired some sort of swelling issue that I think was attributed to beer (?).  Was concerned it tied back to my heart issues as of late.  But,  I've got all that under control.  Worked in some intermittent fasting. Portion control.  But still sippin' some wine spritzers at the pool (home made, low cal).  Still sneaking in a couple of low cal Margaritas once in awhile.  Still enjoying a few good burgers and steaks.  Still, the numbers are slowly dropping.

Half way there, and just as many lost, still to go.  Surprised the waist hasn't dropped down to a smaller pant size yet.  But, I'm seeing changes elsewhere in the torso area.  Amazing what we get used to. What becomes the norm.  I can't imagine what it's going to be like when I hit the target weight.  Been over fifteen years.  Then the question becomes..... continue on down to my USAF Retirement weight (263)?  Lower (250 was my 'perfect weight'?)   Guess I'm getting ahead of myself...   275 is four months out... or sooner.

Should be interesting picking out some new clothes for the big day. Gotta' look good for my Baby Girl's Wedding.  Gotta' be around in case there are any Grand Babies in the future.........
