The Re-Entry Warmup
Beginning of December, I began working out again. But as I've done historically, starting back slowly. High Reps, Low Sets, Light weights. Keeps one from getting too sore out the gate. Still, it's hard to do, when one knows they can push 10%.. 50%.. more weight sometimes... But it builds a foundation to start back off of solidly. So the First few weeks ... I'm doing this. Then decided .. more more , for three total. But with the holidays we took off to Galveston so I missed a week in the gym .. so did one more week. Yesterday was the last day of that process. Tomorrow, I get back into the 'normal' groove.
Few months ago, I picked up some more weight belts. My biggest mistake over the years is not supporting my back correctly and getting injured. Hell, did that two months ago just pushing my slingshot out of the carport, with no support and my back at a slight angle as I pushed it about 75' or so by myself. So, I picked up a few variations to work with. I've got a few to keep around for outside the gym, when picking up things... moving things around. And for in the gym, I've gone back to old school, picking one up that totally rocks and supports me like one I had back in the day. Solid leather, 6" in the back and 4" in the front. Friggn' love it. Total support. Problem is, you can't wear a belt 100% of the time otherwise one's core will get weak, so you have to pick and choose when one wears it. Still.. I've got the equipment. Got a plan. Have the time. Now ... just need to make it happen.
2021 ... bring it on
